Horthar Mountains
The frigid cold Horthar Mountains separate the kingdom of Artonia from the rest of [continent] entirely, except for a few passes. The lower portions of the mountains are home to dwarves, who avoid the dangers of the mountains by living in cities entirely dug out inside of mountains. These cities are breathtaking to behold with statues built out of gems and precious metals found while digging out the mountains. In order to avoid a drab grey interior, many types of stone are used to build the buildings throughout the city.
Geography
Although the Horthar Mountains are significantly more traversable than the Pertome Mountains, they are extremely cold, especially in the more northern areas, and require warm clothing for any journey into or through them. That being said, there are at least passes that can be navigated through without too much inconvenience outside of the occasional monster attacking the unlucky traveler.
Fauna & Flora
Due to the cold, very few plants grow in the Horthar Mountains outside of a few shrubs. In the lower portions there are also a few small coniferous forests as well. Frost giants and their winter wolf companions can be found in the less traveled areas of the mountains, as well as yetis, saber-toothed tigers, and rumor has it, a white dragon. The lower, less frigid parts of the mountains are inhabited by wyverns and chimeras, as well as a multitude of animals.
Out of bravery, foolishness, or a mixture of both, adventurers will occasionally band together to take on frost giants who have been troubling towns or traveling merchants in the nearby area. These groups rarely return with as many members as they left with, if they even return at all.

Natural Resources
The insides of the Horthar Mountains are filled with gems and precious metals, though much of this has been taken by dwarves. Because of this, only a few quarries exist in these mountains, and they exist only due to contracts with whatever dwarf city is closest to them.
