MAGEIA (mage-ia)

Written by Jdebro

Overview

Mageia (or “magic”) is the use of rituals, symbols, actions, gestures, and language with the purpose of harnessing supernatural forces or powers. Mageia allows for the manipulation over various aspects of creation, which can be achieved by different individuals and groups. Magic is capable of being shaped by will, and a being's ability to do so is often called magic sensitivity. Beliefs and practices vary widely among different groups and cultures, but there are core principles common to most of them if not all.

Manifestation

Magic is the power to alter reality by using supernatural divine energy as the fuel, and using various spells to accomplish different feats of power. Magic comes from the Supernatural Realm, possessing power & authority that exist outside of reality. Magic allows users to bring into existence through chants & adjuring effects that would be impossible within the laws of reality, as divine Magic originates from outside reality. Magic uses Energeia (or “divine energy”) as the fuel to produce the near-boundless array of powers granted to all users. Magic is also known by its ancient name, Mageia (from which magic users get their collective name magi (or mages). Mageia is fundamentally different from its antithesis Dunamai (a supernatural power separate from it), despite using Energeia as the fuel for the power. Mageia does require the use of spells, incantations, hexes, rituals, talismans, or other mystical means to achieve their effects (whereas Dunamai does NOT require anything mystical). Mageia can come from multiple power sources depending on the user or situation (such as within the user via hereditary lines, mystical alteration, or through a higher being), which is a stark contrast to other empowered beings such as Dynami who receive their powers from only one source. Mageia is also utter hostile to the power to Dunamai as the two divine powers cannot co-exist, due to Mageia having a different nature from the anti-magical nature of Dunamai.

Localization

The nature of magic possess two types of components: an internal component and an external component. The external component refers to an spell, gesture, incantation, rune, or an combination of these in order to achieve the desired result. The internal component refers to the desires or thoughts of the individual to rewrite reality, acting as the driving component that direct the magic being used. There are many types of magic that were formed to achieve different aims, yet at the core the practice of harnessing magic remains the same. The differences tend to be based on the function, power source, and the type of magic being used.
