"I hate this place" - Wysteria Snowdrop

Nestled in the heart of the Malacania Woods, Proventus is the seat of House Verdway, one of the Oreion Inquisition's wealthiest houses. The city was once said to be a elven settlement, and was taken by House Verdway's famous 'Scarlet Stag' during a war. Despite it's somewhat isolated location, Proventus is one of Oreion's largest settlements next to Victorum, and hosts a variety of amenities for both it's citizens and visitors.   Much of the city is built upon beautiful elven architecture, which has been preserved with a surprising amount of care, evident from one's approach on the Amber Bridge. Verdway Castle's massive structure has much of its area open to the public, and is often used for the various events in the popular annual 'Scarlet Stag Tournament'. The Jade Keep is the central structure of the Castle, and is the traditional home of the Verdway family. Iris Plaza holds the Oreion branch of the Hunter's Hall, as well as the ever-popular Bard's College. The Proventus College has produced some of the greatest performers of Western Arkos in recent years, particularly those pertaining to the school of Valor.   Despite it's lack-luster military power, Proventus's geographical advantages of the nearby river and mountains make it easily defensible. The city also accumulates a substantial amount of wealth annually, from its food production and wine vineyards that are famous across Western Arkos. However, what the city is most famous (or infamous) for is the regard it places on etiquette and good manners. Proper conduct, table manners, and noble titles are held in high importance amongst even the poorest citizens of Proventus, and a failure to adhere to the local customs can result in some citizens becoming highly offended. The streets are just as likely to hold a formal duel than they are a wine tasting.
