Vone

Vone was founded as a small fishing village on the northwest coast of Imor.  It started as a group of huts with straw roofs.  As Vone grew the huts became wooden houses and stores.  Because of the threats of raiders from the land and sea.  The villagers built a tower to help give warning about any incoming raiders.  Soon they built and joined the communation line centers to talk to the other villages along the coast.   About one hundred years after it had been settled the fishermen noticed something odd in the sea and warned the village.  While the watch tower noticed a very long unbroken wave heading towards the village.  This huge wave destroyed most of the village and sadly even with the warnings many died.   After this fishermen slowly returned to the village. As they came back many others joined them. Rebuilding the village mostly with stone this time. They created a barrier to help keep the sea out. They rebuilt the tower to continue to help warn of danger. Then 50 years after the rebuild a nearby river flooded the village. The barrier keeping the water in. Most of the town was again destroyed.   A year later after the water had receded people returned and built more protections and built on stilts in hopes that it would reduce the damages. 100 years later an infection killed about half of the population. It took a few generations before the population returned the number before the infection.  Now about 15 years before current time a huge landslide buried one third of the village.  After looking at the damage the village decided instead of digging out the landslide they will just build around it.     When asked why the villagers stay after the many destructions and mishaps.  The villagers answer that it is home. That things will happen and they will rebuild.
