Delight Master
The city officials of Jateridge decided, in an effort to boost tourism to their city, to create a new competition. The competition is called the Spankit delight bake-off. It is a baking competition to honor the city’s most famous dish, the Oven-baked Dark Jate Spankit Delight. It was said to have been created for a bake-off to see who could stay in the city as a baker.
The Spankit delight bake-off competition is set over six weeks in the spring/summer. The best time of year for good weather in Jateridge. Each week, they have four rounds of baking. At the end of the four rounds, one to two competitors are dismissed. Each round has a theme. First round: create a dish that you are known for. Second round: create a new dish with the given ingredients. Third round, bake a previous Delight Masters dish, with a few instructions. Fourth round, create a masterpiece to serve to nobles. Each of the six weeks is themed, either by ingredient that should star in each dish or type of food. Such as breads, puddings, pastries, or no-bake delights. At the end of the six weeks, there is a huge party where people come to try all the different dishes that the contestants made throughout the weeks. During this party, the winner of the bake-off is announced as the new Delight Master. The Delight Master is then expected to be one of the judges at next year's competition. They also get the exclusive rights to bake for the Noble family for the year.
In the last five years that this competition has taken place, Jateridge’s tourism has improved. First, many bakers come from other places to compete in the Sapnkit Delight Bake-Off. They just have to know that if they win, they will be staying in Jateridge for a year. However, many are willing because they feel it will boost their popularity when they return home. Second, there are many people who come to join in the celebration party and announcement of the new Delight Master. There are a few who come for the competition and then stay a bit longer to explore the city.
