Adventurers Guild of Vaegro
Adventurer’s Guild
Companies can only take quests of their grade or lower. While not an official label, many celebrity adventurers are given speculative grades for quests they could or have completed alone. Unlicensed adventurers/companies can’t take official quests as a “quality control” method. Freelance work is almost always local, while official quests can be received from across the continent.
Quests are submitted for review by the guild before posting. A quest is given a payout value, description, and a 10% tax is taken for the official submittal. Based on quest requirements a grade is granted.
This has the negative side effect of low payout/grade quests often going ignored by the large companies. This forces small companies without sponsors to take low-pay quests and are worryingly often unable to keep up with cost of living and fees. In many cases, those looking to post low-grade quests can’t afford both a decent payout and submittal fee, leading many quests to not even reach the eyes of companies. Many large companies prefer to build relationships with clients that go to them directly, to avoid competition and guild taxes.
A company starts at rank C (label dependent on quest type specialization). After consecutively completing three contracts of their grade, a company may take a quest of the next grade. Success will see their grade upgraded but failure to complete will force their grade to drop. The grade cannot go lower than C but many don’t financially survive constant failure.
Quests may be labeled as "PRIORITY", which are not given a grade. These are accessible to any qualified company and multiple companies may take on the quest. Rewards are given to the first company/adventurer to successfully complete the objectives. Priority quests are rare, but designed to incentivize the quickest response to disasters.
