Perpetual is the Argosisn God of transformation. That much is known. What that means beyond that lose definition is hotly debated among His/Her followers. Some say Perpetual is a redeemer of evil, others clams he is a corrupter. Some sects flame he seeks to transform the world into a perfect, idealized plane, while others clam he seeks nothing but chaos and discord. Whatever the reason, the second thing is known with absolute certainty about Perpetual is that his servents are NEVER denied power, or ever forced to attone for there crimes. Even the most vile of antipalidens have noticed no lack of spells or divine power since there fall from just defender. Good churches clame that this is because She/He teaches redemption, and tempts with power, while evil fallowers use this as evidence that Perpetual is. A senile or dead god.
Whatever the reason, every sect of Perpetual is different in there interpretation, though with a definite bias towards more good clerics then evil ones, if only due to Perpetuals favoured weapon, The Blade of the Custodian, being a Longsword, the traditional weapon of knightly valor
