Summary - After the Tempest

The story so far:

A makeshift party set out on an expedition to discover why a plant used in the creation of healing potions was disappearing from the forest. They all had different reasons, but shared the same goal. During this adventure they encountered and rescued a dying dragon, sealed a tear in reality, and made a deal with a fey creature. However, this also resulted in multiple party members losing their powers, causing the party to split.

With the new goal of avoiding being dragged into an encroaching war, the party gets hired as guides for a wealthy lady intent on entering the Shadowfell in search of her lost daughter. An incident that cost a party member's life breaks the contract, forcing the lady to hire a mercenary from a guild of Shadow Slayers. As the party prepares to enter the Shadowfell, they are called upon to help rescue two other guild members, with the successful rescue leading to the party becoming honorary members.

The party then traveled eastwards to save one party member's sister from a cult led by the former lover of another party member. The conflicting world views almost led to another split. Having saved the sister and allying with the goddess of the cult, the party set out to slay a monster that feeds on krakens. The encounter left them shipwrecked on a volcanic outcropping in the middle of the sea.
