Songbird

Songbird is a drug commonly found in the Northern Desert, specifically Aujarux where it is made.   It is quite addictive, and when used in excess is very harmful to both body and mind.

Uncommon Knowledge

The drug is made from refined magical crystals, resulting in some subtly different effects based on the specific crystals used.   While tolerated in the Urdom of Aujarux, it is highly illegal in Burakrin, and a controlled substance in most of the other countries of Caesin.   Overuse of Songbird causes its users to develop lacerations in their airways. It also causes them to be tired whenever they aren't on the drug.  

Hidden Knowledge

Due to its magical nature, it has the potential to temporarily enhance a spellcaster's abilities. This sometimes allows its users to awaken dormant magical powers, even if they were unable to use magic before. When combined with drug-induced paranoia or hallucinations these factors lead to dangerous situations.
