Journey of the Dwarven Clans
Strong were they, the Sixteen Clans;
Their Hold was vast, deep, and wide.
Each studied and grew, sharing their arts with their kin and beyond;
Their Hold grew rich and strong.
One day, a traveler came and showed them metals never seen.
"Beyond your hills and mountainlands lie even more yet to be explored!"
Strong were they, the Sixteen Clans;
Their Hold was vast, deep, and wide.
The Dwarves had no need for the unseen metals; they would remain where they were.
One day, a traveler came and showed them crafts never seen.
"Beneath your mines and mountainhalls lie even more yet to be explored!"
Strong they were, the Sixteen Clans;
Their Hold was vast, deep, and wide.
The Dwarves had no need for the unseen crafts; they would remain where they were.
In the following years, a crack slowly formed in the walls of their Hold; small but significant, they mended and fixed.
The greatest artisans went to work, sculpting with the crack to craft a beautiful carving for all Sixteen Clans.
Yet, every year, the crack only grew; but the sculptors kept on mending.
One day, a traveler came and showed them magics never seen.
"Behind your homes and in your walls lies a world yet to be explored!"
Strong they were, the Sixteen Clans;
Their Hold was vast, deep, and wide.
The Dwarves had no need for the unseen world; they would remain where they were.
Yet, every year, the crack only grew, and the sculptors could mend no more.
The unseen world had come for them, with claw and fang and tooth.
Strong they were, the Sixteen Clans;
Their Hold was vast, deep, and wide.
Their guard was strong and disciplined.
Their arms were sharp, their armor sturdy.
But the unseen world had come for them, with claw and fang and tooth.
Their Hold was theirs, until the end, as the mighty pillars fell.
The Clans now carried by the Winds, to worlds they never knew.
Beneath their mines and mountainhalls; Beyond their hills and mountainlands.
