Carwold

The southeastern border of the Kingdom of Axmund, overlooking the debatable and uninhabited lands between the Feuding Kingdoms, is guarded by the impenetrable line of forts of the Carwold. Originally built four hundred years ago by Halfmin the Steadfast as a defense against the then-growing Kingdom of Arcadia, the line of forts was maintained and expanded by many rulers after him until the time of Bellan Ironheart. After the Battle of Glenrill, the fortresses were barely manned and fell into disrepair. However, in recent years Rinburn III repaired and re-manned the Carwold forts, foreseeing war with Arcadia that would soon come. Today, they look out over the bleak No-Man Lands, the blasted region between the Carwold and To Synoro where the advance of each army has been stopped by the other.
