Octarine

The Aquatic Octarine are a hyper intelligent race of merelves. Their known for their cunning and foresight which often leads them to excellence in whatever endeavor they pursue. The Hunters of the Octarine tribes are some of the most observant trackers under the sea and their snares tend to be elaborate and irresistible to their prey. Their diplomats and merchants are unparalleled negotiators. Their warriors skillful athletes that tend to use brain over brawn. Physically, the octarine have eight tentacles exuding from their head. These grow thicker and longer the older the elf gets, with some octarine living well over 5000 years old and having appendages that are 7 inches in diameter and up to 30 feet long. Each tentacle arm contains dozens of small suckers allowing them to grasp and suction as needed. Octarine society is as diverse and ubiquitous as elven societies on the surface. Some are tribal groups others are sophisticated and elegant aristocracies. Being so thoroughly intelligent has lead to the race being significantly well equipped to spread under the surface, often allowing them to out compete other societies of their level of development. Usually their society will contain slaves/servants/allies/peers and have a high cultural diversity for those social reasons.
