Divine Domains
The Provider: Agriculture and Hunt
While his wife, Albona the mother, is the goddess of nature, fertility and family, Raodin represents the mortal aspect, the provider who interacts with her and harvests from her bountiful goods to then again provide for her (the family) again to renew the circle. As god of agriculture, hunt and hard honest work, the Green Man nurtures and teaches the value of good work ethics. He provides for the family and the state as a whole and likes to see that the dutiful and diligent receive the fruit of their labor. While the acts of creation and invention remain part of Oghmen domain, and growth and and fertility are part of Albona, harvest and diligence belong to Raodin. As such he finds followers among the farmers and artisans alike.Protection, Law, Justice
Raodin protects the family and the flock of the faithful. Although not the god of war anymore (that would be Sonra, The She-Warrior) the faithful knight and the fair hunter will find Raodin's benevolence, provided he protects the weak and upholds Raodin's law and order. It is Raodin who sets the boundaries and rules and decides the law after hearing the words of truth from Oghmen the Sage and the words of compassion from his wife, Albona, the Mother. Raodin stands against corruption and exploitation. Not prone to mercy, but sworn to his word which is law, he finds followers among knights and guards who uphold the order, but also among avengers who seek justice.Protector of the Day
Raodin is the defender of the day. The sun is his glaring shield, which illuminates the world. He carries it from horizon to horizon every day, on his patrol to guard the world from the forces of darkness that bring forth the The PlagueDivine Symbols & Sigils
Father Symbol
The Sigil of the Father that is recognized in all regions where the Faith is dominant (Caldaven, Aquira, the Emerald Coast, the Summer Isles). It is at the same time a stylized symbol of the sun and of a shield and it represents both things, to emphasize the Father's role as a protector and the Defender of the Day.
Raodin Statues
Raodin is often depicted as a hooded man with emerald eyes wearing a green cloak while being accompanied by a majestic stag.
Other Depictions show him as a man with antlers and staglike features. Because this oftentimes makes his features strongly resemble elvish facial features, some people think that maybe the Green Man had once been an Elf, a theory which among Norn has gained some traction, but one which the Faith of the Seven considers heresy.
A few statues are even made from green Jade imported from the Jade Pinnacles, but they are rare. Oftentimes the Statues that depict Raodin are made from bronze which, once oxidized, gains the desired green tint.
Physical Description
Body Features
Raodin is said to appear as a hooded, bearded man with green glowing eyes. In this form he is clad in green clothes and oftentimes accompanied by a stag. Other myths suggest that he also takes the form of a huge being that is half stag, half man which is clad in green leather.
