Raodin is the defender of the day. The sun is his glaring shield, which illuminates the world, and as such he carries it from horizon to horizon every day, on his patrol to guard the world from the forces of darkness that bring forth the The PlagueProtection, Law, Justice
Rao protects the family and the flock of the faithful. Although not a warlike god like The Warrior the faithful knight will find Rao's benevolence if he protects law and order. Rao sets the boundaries and rules and decides the law after hearing the words of truth from Oris the Sage and the words of compassion from his wife, the Ysis the Mother. Rao stands against corruption. Not prone to mercy, but sworn to the word of the law, he finds followers among knights and guards who uphold the order, but also among avengers who seek justice.The Provider
As god of the agriculture, hunt and honest work, Rao nurtures and teaches the value of good work ethics. He provides for the family and the state as a whole and likes to see that the dutiful and diligent receive the fruit of their labor. While the acts of creation and invention remain part of Oris domain, and growth and and fertility are part of Ysis, harvest and diligence belong to Rao. Father Symbol
The Sigil of the Father that is recognized in all regions where the Faith is dominant (Caldaven, Aquira, the Emerald Coast, the Summer Isles). It is at the same time a stylized symbol of the sun and of a shield and it represents both things, to emphasize the Father's role as a protector and the Defender of the Day.

Rao, the Father is often depicted as a tall , blonde muscular man with a beard,. Most depictions show him bare chested and sporting wings from his back not unlike the Sidgardian valkyries. Sometimes he is accompanied by an eagle.

The colors of Rao
The Colors of Rao are Yellow and Orange to represent Gold and symbolize Rao's status as Deity of the glaring Sun. Both colors find representation in garments of the Rao church in equal measure.
