(a.k.a. the Father, the Protector, the Provider, Defender of the Day)

Divine Domains

Light
As deity of the Sun, Rao provides the light that both fights back the darkness and that makes the crop grow.

Protector of the Day

Raodin is the defender of the day. The sun is his glaring shield, which illuminates the world, and as such he carries it from horizon to horizon every day, on his patrol to guard the world from the forces of darkness that bring forth the The Plague

Protection, Law, Justice

Rao protects the family and the flock of the faithful. Although not a warlike god like The Warrior the faithful knight will find Rao's benevolence if he protects law and order. Rao sets the boundaries and rules and decides the law after hearing the words of truth from Oris the Sage and the words of compassion from his wife, the Ysis the Mother. Rao stands against corruption. Not prone to mercy, but sworn to the word of the law, he finds followers among knights and guards who uphold the order, but also among avengers who seek justice.

The Provider

As god of the agriculture, hunt and honest work, Rao nurtures and teaches the value of good work ethics. He provides for the family and the state as a whole and likes to see that the dutiful and diligent receive the fruit of their labor. While the acts of creation and invention remain part of Oris domain, and growth and and fertility are part of Ysis, harvest and diligence belong to Rao. As such he finds followers among the farmers and artisans alike.
