Adaptation 2

Hand of fate 2 is an action role-playing game in which the player takes the role of an adventurer that uses cards to determine what choices you can and do make throughout the game. One of the encounters in the game is called Gambling Hansel. The event has the players encounter a man called gambling Hansel who is running away with a large amount of money and is being chased because of his apparent cheating. The player is given the choice to either “Get out of the way” or “Defend Hansel from the soldier.” If the player decides to get out of the way Hansel escapes by throwing a distracting amount of gold around and the player gains a small amount of gold as well. If the player decides to step in and help Hansel the player will fight a few enemies and then find that during the fight Hansel was killed; the player then has the opportunity to pursue a person escaping with the money or to search for Hansel, which in turn creates the chance to give the player some item with a “Gambit trait,” possibly implying one of the several items Hansel carried in the Grimm version of the story. In practice, though, this is a random magic item with little relevance to the Grimm tale. If the player pursues the person who stole from Hansel, they will find the thief captured by guards. This adaptation is a more realistic interpretation of the Grimm version where Hansel would most likely not survive while cheating for that long, as we see in this encounter.
