Nano-Wave Radiation
Much like radio-waves, Nano-wave radiation is used for communication. However, only the Mechanon possess the ability to harness it. What makes it superior to radio waves is simply the fact that its wavelength is even shorter than that of radio waves. This causes them to move even faster. They move at one point five times the speed of light, making them one point five times the speed of normal radio waves. This faster than light communication allows them to contact eachother from neigboring stellar bodies with much greater efficiency. Many believe this is the only thing that made their journey to Earth possible, regardless of how long that journey may have been. Very little is actually known about how the aliens harness this energy, and much less how they use it for communication.
Manifestation
It is a form of radiation, therefore, it is a form of energy. It is invisible to the naked eye, but can become visible when looked at under a certain lense. Similar to how a radio teliscope captures radio waves, and focuses them, a nano-wave teliscope does the same, but for nano-waves. This allows people to see nano-waves traveling from one spot, to another. While we cannot decifer the messages sent, or even listen in, we can identify where they are coming from, and going to.
