The Sylvan Realms

The people of the Sylvanlands are a storied and multi-faceted people. While their individual kingdoms tend towards isolationism, they share a strong cultural background and each are the product (at least in some capacity) of a united people many ages ago.    Those that call the canopied lands of the Sylvanlands home can be split into two main groups: Elves and Men.    The northern temparate forests are the domain of wood elves like that of Laminar. Once, these elves counted themselves among The Núr'uir, but a great schism instigated by disagreements on how their people should expand saw them separate from their High Elf brethren long before the empire crumbled. Now, these wood elf kingdoms thrive in harmony with nature; snapshots of a time unmoving that remain relatively unchanged in their lengthy tenures as stewards of the forest.   These stand in stark contrast to the human lands farther south in the more tropical rainforests and pockets of bald hills and mountains of the Sylvanlands.    These people have inherited a reverence for nature from their elven neighbors, but, like most human nations, seek continuous growth. The culture of these kingdoms draws heavy inspiration from the "jungle law" that dicates the natural life cycle of the forest and the creatures that dwell within. Their folklore and mythology frequently feature the likes of cunning dragons, giant serpents, ancient owls, and living trees. When The Extinction War concluded and the realms of Kentro sought to rebuild, the burgeoning kingdoms of the Sylvanlands took the opportunity to establish new connections and trade with the greater world.
