The goddess Khala unleashed an enchanted winter upon Archaeon, and ushered in a short ice age, crippling the continent.

Two years after the fall of the kingdom of the elves, Khala, the goddess of winter, broke the Concordat and cursed Archaeon with a magical winter without end, unleashing creatures of ice and snow in an attempt to take control of the Mortal Plane. She was only stopped through the combined efforts of both mortals and gods, who returned to the Mortal Plane only to put a stop to her planes.
