The history of it all

In the beginning, and in the space before space even existed, dwelled the beings, Era and Moru. They fought for infinity as time did not exist yet. They clashed again and again - perpetually - until they were both mortally damaged. In the period of recovering, they both reconciled, vowing to use their powers to create, and not destroy. And it was then, The Song was born.

From the song the melodies of Life and Death were created - a perfect balance of what is and what was. This balance must always be maintained. From each of those melodies, the harmonies of the layered dimensions came forth, spreading onwards for infinity and never ending, which is why they song can never be heard by anyone except Era and Moru. Each layered dimension is infinitely wide, and infinitely long, and is filled with an infinite amount of smaller dimensions.

In our understanding, we live in the 3rd dimension, for there is width, height, and length, which is true for our layered dimension, where all the smaller dimensions inside is also part of the 3rd dimension. Arbitrarily above the 3rd dimension is the 2nd dimension, and above that the 1st dimension, and even above that are dimensions that are even more out of our understanding. However, below the 3rd dimension things get a bit easier as the numbers simply increase to infinity, which is.... well, infinite. Inside each layered dimension are an infinite amount of individual - smaller - dimensions that house an unfathomable amount of universes, which in extent contain masses upon masses of galaxies, stars and nebula.

Inside one of those layered dimensions, and inside one of the infinite smaller dimensions, and somewhere in one of the universes, there's the galaxy of Arcathia. A sprawling constellation of Empires, civilisations, species, and history, all waiting to be uncovered.
