Charm of Kara'ul

Once thought to be the rarest charm in the galaxy, it was known as a myth. Until a great magician by the name of Kara'ul discovered how to create one. He was never greedy, always sharing knowledge and information, and so he dispersed 100 of the charms across the galaxy, in a kind gesture of protection.

What is the charm?

The charm of Kara'ul is one of protection. It is designed to protect the wearer from physical harm, through the means of stored magic. The charm can only work depending on how much energy is stored within it, releasing small bits, in order to save the wearer.

The charm is unique in the way it stores its energy, as it has no gemstones to do so. Each one is made of a special unknown metal, that is cold to the touch and very resilient. Any attempts to glean information about its properties and origin have failed, even with all the advanced technology available, due to its extreme toughness

How does the charm work?

The charm works by using stored energy to protect the user. The more harm the wearer is in, the more energy is used up. One there is nothing more stored in the charm, it ceases to function, until more energy is put in.

Kara'ul created the charm to help people, and so it will never harm the wearer, or other people.

To put energy into the charm, the wearer must hold it, with their bare hand, and concentrate on picturing their life force going into the charm. After prolonged usage of transferring energy, the wearer will feel very tired, as if they need to sleep.

Why use the charm?

If you are in dangerous situations commonly, it is wise to buy, find, or steal a charm of Kara'ul. It protects the wearer from any attacks physically. For example, explosions, blades, energy rifles and the vacuum of space to name a few. If something were to damage the user in any physical way, the charm will stop it.
