semi-aquatic species, reflective, almost glossy, sparkly skin, of light shades of pinks, blues, yellows, purples, oranges and greens, sometimes speckled with another colour.
Hairless, they instead possess several thin, coloured feather-like fins protruding from their head. A child will have six of these fins, three per side, symmetrically. While an adult might have up to sixteen.
Long agile fingers with webbed hands. Shoulders and upper arms have more, smaller fins, similar to their crest of fins. Have a long tail with a vertical fin on the front and back that continues up the spine to the neck.
Soft slit nostrils, no nose. Large prominent circular eyes, with circular black pupils and sclera in a wide range of vivid glimmering colours.
Live in moist jungle-like environments in fresh water lakes and rivers.
Are born in water with gills, living fully underwater before growing lungs and losing the gills as they mature.
They don't have a prominent jawline, instead the bottom edge of their soft featured face forms their mouth, with the underside of their head being the bottom jaw of their large toothless mouth, used to swallow small plants and prey whole.
