5-6 ft tall, completely hairless, clammy-looking skin in a range of light grey colours. Grey sclera, solid black pupils with a white iris.
Greatly varies lifespan of 100-300 years. They don't grow "old" like other species, instead, they simply stay as adults in their prime until it is their "time", upon which they suddenly start growing weaker for several weeks before eventually passing.
When one reaches their time, they choose someone, often family or a lover, to "bestow" their knowledge and memories unto. Then, once they're dead, their "memories can be removed from the nape of their neck/base of their skull. This takes the form of an amorphous ball of "flesh" containing all of the deceased memories. As soon as this "flesh" comes into contact with living skin it will latch on, merging with that person's body and replacing a patch of their skin with its flesh, thereby permanently merging with that person and giving them access to the memories contained within. The size of the "flesh" and resulting "patch" of mismatched skin, depends on how many memories are stored within. This practice and resulting appearance has led to them sometimes being fearfully named the "patchwork people".
