Treaties of Ahdequin (▸ˈtɹi:ti:z ʌv ˈæˌdɛkwɪn◂)

The Treaties of Ahdequin are a collection of treaties concluded at the Rowan Peace Conference of 1148-1150, and ratified by the many and varied nations, institutions, and Peoples of the Inner Seas to end all hostilities of the Ages Wars, settle grievances resulting in, and arising from said conflict, establish appropriate reparations, and to establish and maintain the New World Order for the benefit of all Peoples.

The treaties comprising the concluded document are: The Treaty of Science and Magicks, The Treaty of Institutions and Sovereignty, The Treaty of Jurisdiction, and the Treaty of Consolidation of Influence. These treaties were negotiated individually by the many, and varied interests involved in the hostilities of the Ages Wars, or who were invited by majority agreement to participate in the Rowan Peace Conference, as many controversies and conspiracies plagued the opening negotiations that were aimed at a simpler, less complicated, single treaty. Further complications arose during long debates over the processes to conclude the various treaties into a unifying document, as several interests involved felt that the inclusion of nongovernmental institutions gave the major nation-states of Arcadia, Dacia, and Kora added influence over the proceedings.

The major provisions of the treaties required major reparations to the Empire of the Dacians, in the form of annul payments of precious metals by the Arcadian Empire and the Koran Trade Collective, and in the form of an exchange of magickal technologies from the Koran Trade Collective and Arcadian Empire, to the Empire of the acians to assist in the repair and restoration of their native habitat. Other provisions included the establishment of protected international trade within the Inner Seas; the creation of universal weights and measures, to include a universal currency exchange and common language; the establishment of standards of understandings to regulate academic and religious interactions in international affairs; the establishment of exclusive ranges and biomes intrinsic to the health and prosperity of the individual races, and the establishment of the Council of Rowan to govern, enforce, and adjudicate the New World Order.

As the negotiations were led primarily by the three major nation-states of Arcadia, Dacia, and Kora, many of the lesser nations, kingdoms, and Peoples were left feeling disenfranchised, but reluctantly succumbed to the proceedings as to not be marginalized in the New World Order. Many Human nations and kingdoms, that have existed within the spere of influence of the Empire of the Dacians for generations, left the Rowen Peace Conference disillusioned as their aspirations of securing concessions to ensure their individual sovereignties, and to protect their communities from further devastation from the Dacian Slave Trade, were widely ignored; rather being supplanted by rules designed to protect the Dacian's interests through the establishment of a regulatory regime deemed too weak and frivolous to effectively impact the slaving market.

Conspicuously absent from the Rowen Peace Conference were the Dwarves of the Durmastia, and any nations or Peoples within their sphere of influence. Though there were some military engagements involving the Dwarves, or those subject to them, the attendees of the conference voted unanimously to exclude the Peoples of the Underdark, and any subject to them, in alignment with the long standing, and universal sentiment, that the interests of the Dwarves is of no concern to those that dwell in the sun, as no Dwarven entity has ever considered any interest other than their own. Provisions were made to allow previous treaties and trade agreements, established before the outbreak of the hostilities of the Ages War, and those arising in the interim; and for the allowance of future agreements and treaties, providing that they also serve the spirit of the Treaties of Ahdequin, and be subject to the approval of the Council of Rowan; be allowed to be entered into by the many and varied nations, kingdoms, interests, and Peoples bound by the tenets of the treaty, to serve their own interests as they determine.

The Treaties of Ahdequin was hailed by many leaders and scholars, who recognized that, while not a perfect agreement that meets every need of every signatory, it is the right agreement to meet the needs of the world. Critics point out that, while the treaty is long and full of flourishing and aspirational language, it does little in the way of its intended purpose to eradicate the institutions, ideologies, and hegemonic activities that lead the would into the destruction of the Ages Wars.
