Weaver
... those who handle threads of Magic!
"There is a hidden layer beneath this World, where Magic is within the bones and stones. In a veiled language, all things are resonances of Creation, made in flesh and bound in Spirit. Woven into the fabric of Life, there are those who fold the veils and reveal the inner mysteries of Magic. How will you part the veil, Weaver?"
Survival in the Ice Age required early Tribes to use their limited resources to create what was necessary. Fashioning warm clothing from the environment was a necessity to avoid cold exposure. It was the Tribal Weaver who was responsible for this, though for some, their practice held sacred purpose.
While some were born with it, those who craft patterns learn to intuit the threads of Source that connects all things to the potential of Magic. Weavers with this intuition were also referred to more directly as Spell-Weavers, in some Cultures. With powerful Divinations, Weavers were among the earliest magical traditions.
Career & Adventure

The Weaver was a well-respected role within a Tribe. Their ability to craft functional goods and clothing through weaving provided comfort and security for their people. Using the understanding of Magic through Divination, presented by Diviners, Weavers worked together to preserve the magical legacy of their Cultures through the craft of weaving.
Ancient sewn scrolls and tapestry from various Ages were made from Weaver's fabric.

Becoming a Weaver
There are two ways to become a Weaver: one either practices under the tutelage of a Weaver, learns the practice of weaving or they are simply born with the quality to recognize magical Ley and patterns. These innate Casters draw their Magic from an internal point of Source, much like all Casters, but their connection to it is raw and personal. They see themselves as visionaries connected to an intricate web of Magic.
Weavers were expected to teach others, when it came to the function of weaving. As educators, they passed on the life-saving techniques to younger generations, but the secret of the Weaver's Magic was often passed on to those who possessed this "gift" of recognition. Their ability to warp and interact with Magic sets them apart from other Casters, defining their role with a profound mastery over the intricacies of Spell-Craft.
Skills & Expertise
Weaving & Spell-Weaving
The most basic skill all Weavers possess is the ability to turn base materials into resources for fashioning clothes and tools. From baskets to clothing, the Weaver's profession allows them to craft a range of practical items. This function was vital for learning the finer practice that crafted the first magical items. As language and the practice of Magic evolved, so too did the Weaver's profession.
Weavers became familiar with weaving spells through a Spell-Matrix. By adapting this technique, Weavers became even more efficient than their mundane counterparts, Sewers. Set apart by the Spell-Weave technique, Weavers were given access to special resources to craft their goods. They also had access to special tools which are required for a Weaver to effectively craft enchanted goods.
Tools & Materials
Sewing Kit
While a Weaver is able to fashion their tools from scavenged materials, one of the most vital tools in a Weaver's bag is the Sewing Kit. This kit usually includes personal tools a Weaver needs in order to craft cloth goods. The Sewing Kit can be used to make alterations on existing fashions as well. Advanced kits include materials for dying clothing or additional materials, such as fangs, stones, and clasps.
A Sewing Kit includes:
- Spools of Thread
- Bone Hook & Needle
- Needle Case
- Bone Awl
- Cloth Swatches
- Stone Fabric Knife
- Stone Thimble
Purpose & Progression
The Weaver was expected to share their knowledge with younger generations. As such, many held respectable positions as community leaders and teachers. They were able to teach important Cultural lessons, such as language and Cultural Fashion. With enough resources, groups of Weavers would come together to address common issues within their Tribe.
As a Weaver developed rapport with their Tribe, they earned new prestige and advanced their status. Elevated craftsmen, the Enchanters had perfected the Weaver's ability to enchant items with a Sodor. Seekers were travelers and ascetics who sought fonts of Source, whereas Shapers focused on using the Spell-Matrix for enchanting the World, such as Ice Shapers or Stone Shapers.

Perspective & Social Role
Weavers were responsible for providing the goods and materials a Tribe needed to survive, which included items like blankets, warm clothing, containers, rope, and nets. They were involved with the daily lives of many Tribesmen, and as such held an important role in early trade and commerce.
While a reputable Weaver was known as a benefactor, those maligned practitioners of the Weaver's Tradition were known as Binders. It was this group that first studied and organized Binding spells. Unlike their counterparts, Binders use their skills for themselves or to harm others with Magic.

Cultural Role & Identity
Myst Folk
In Myst Folk Culture, the Weaver's tradition was the first of their magical practices. Their deity, Unagi of the Mysts, was represented by a principle known as the Golden Arc; this shape informed the first sewing hooks. Myst Folk saw this shape represented in nature; by using this shape, they were able to craft the early Folk Fashions. Weavers were appreciated in the maritime traditions, as the Tribe depended on their skills for goods and rope.
Weavers held a reputable position amongst the Myst Folk, often serving as intermediaries of knowledge and tradition. Myst Folk Weavers went on to teach and inform the Weavers of their relatives, the Myth Folk. This mirrored their early myths, which suggested Unagi taught Vavaya of the Myths the secret of the Golden Arc. Myst Folk Weavers were commonly found teaching the styles and traditions to Myth Folk Sewers and Weavers.
Historical Significance
The importance of skilled Weavers has not been lost on History. These were Tribal providers practiced in the skills and traditions of their Culture. They were able to record these into their crafts, leaving behind a rich legacy of magical and mundane items. Thanks to this early magical innovation, the Weaver's craft was the first step towards the evolution of enchanted items.
Famous Weavers appear throughout the early Eras as men and women of profound creativity and vision. Such figures became legendary inventors of both goods and spells. Powerful Casters, their work in Spell-Craft expanded early magical understanding. Many of the Weaver's recipes became the subject of countless errand legends and quests amongst several Cultures.

Author's Notes
My progress slowed this month, with my participation in World-Con and the publish of v6 Arc Tribune. I'm also having weird issues with the new comp, but despite that, I've kept up with my word count dedication for this challenge! My minimum goal is to finish the last 2 Base Classes and my max goal is to finish this month with the 6 additional "Hybrid" Classes complete as well. We'll see if this is attainable! As for now, thank for checking out this Article and I'll see you next time with updates!
