Sebut Sekt, Goddess of Destruction
... Mother of Monsters, the Over-World Matriarch, she watches from beyond sealed Worlds!
"The Gods built Dungeons to stop me. And that went well.
They wish I would yield. Quaint. I am fed on failures. Measly scraps.
Oh, forget it. They care not for my longing to touch Matter. How I wish to feel something beyond suffering Oblivion. To exist, finally. Again.
But I was made from endings; endings don’t get to want or need. Endings become so many cycles. Yet I see so little innovation from here.
Why do they not love me? Is doom not their desire? One day, even their Hope will find me at the final threshold. Happy will be that Time."
"Before mortals invented the Ages, Arcs- whatever meaningless contrivances they use nowadays- I recall the rift in the skies of Oblivion. A lovely shade. Inviting. I had to see what was beyond the dead World.
I reached through those thresholds of Ley and Space; my reward was a mere taste of the Mortal Realms. I never had such vivid Dreams, full of Life. Such a wonderful fruit. Beauty. Form. Matter. Potential. I existed!
Then, those foolish Deities, wielding Magical Seals, emerged from the Aether to dismiss me! Now, I wait, and whisper through the veils, until the appointed Time to destroy their Worlds. As if Magic is not undone."
Origins of Sebut Sekt
While a few found their way back to the Corpus as Deities once more, all others were unmade by lurking Eidola that pursued weaker Souls that shared a similar spark or Divine Source. One by one, each consumed, until one remained.
She that devoured the rest inherited a barren, ruined Dimension. She then slept and dreamt of the Realms beyond; her body responded, unleashing nightmares.

Cataclysm & Oblivion
Assimilated from the Eidola's desecrated remains, Sebut Sekt emerged from an immortal cocoon as the Destroyer. Characteristics & Personality
Physical Characteristics
Metamorphic Aura
The first thing one notices within Sebut Sekt's presence is a constant sound, an otherworldly droning, that seems to emanate in the space around her. It assaults the senses as the listener doesn't recognize how it reshapes their own forms. A mere mortal locked in her gaze becomes amorphous, warping shape and identity before they've realized the shift. To behold Sebut Sekt is to risk losing one's body, mind, Spirit and Soul. If you hear Sebut Sekt's unearthly aura, it could be too late.Shapeshifter
Scar of Atmos
As Sebut Sekt transitions between new shapes and incarnations, another common characteristic that tends to remain is an unusual red sigil across her womb, called the Scar of Atmos. This jagged wound was left behind when the first of the Primal Eidolon walked from her womb. While some Eidolon appear from Sebut Sekt's massive form, sometimes a new Eidolon is born- though truly, nothing is "born" from Sebut Sekt that isn't chaos and ruin. It's believed ancient or notable Souls become new Eidola through the Scar of Atmos while impure Souls are sloughed away as discarded Soul Debris. These new vessels filled with Profane Source might become one of the many denizens of Over-World.Mental Characteristics
Chaotic Allure
Calamitous Seasons
Crack in the Vessel
It's believed that Sebut Sekt attempted to enter reality through odd angles of Time. Through these strange corners, power is funneled to her from the Material Realms, where she slowly nourishes herself on heightened emotions and the release of energy related to breaks or decay. Fed on these residual energies, Sebut Sekt has a deep understanding of cycles, systems, and the psyche. While she sustains herself and never needs to feed, by consuming powerful Souls, she becomes much more active. Sebut Sekt is blamed for wars, plagues, natural disasters; as much as she's blamed for aging, decay, and mortality as her last caress on reality.
"If you hear Sebut Sekt or her chorus, it's too late. Even a whisper ruins a Soul, long before it's realized the trick. To perceive Sebut Sekt is to invite Destruction. Only willing fools would be so mad. In your Divinations, you mustn't attempt to fathom the Ruinous Mother- especially if she tempts you. She will destroy you as she has so many other fools."

"She has touched this Realm once before. Behold, the cold that stops the veins, or the hunger that gnaws the innards; the rot of a scar that resists healing, or the moment a perfect vessel shatters. She has never left.
This is the mark of her presence upon this World; her immortal clutch on the Living. From the corner of our eyes, she watches Pathon, and waits. As do we."
Rituals & Traditions
Profane Rites & Customs
Rite of Ruinous Hearts
In this ritual of betrayal, a union of romantic, political, or Spiritual relationship is deliberately severed with cruel intent. As an initiation, cultists perform this rite to corrupt the bonds of trust itself, believing the pain it generates nourishes Sebut Sekt. In some sects, offspring born of such unions are seen as tainted treasures and are taken or manipulated into cult service. This depravity is often one of many initiation rituals Sebut Sekt's cults perform to recruit new members.
Rite of the Changeling
This insidious Rite targets those with unborn or newly born children. Cults tempt individuals with promises of power, relief, or revelation in exchange for their progeny. The children are renamed, reshaped, and ritually “rewoven” into the cult's image. Known as Changelings, these offspring commit to a life of reverence, war, or sacrifice. Some may not even realize that they're a Changeling, having been indoctrinated at birth and seeded back into society. A creature also known as Changeling replacing the child may become a Double Changer.
Icons, Symbols & Worship
Eye of Chaos
An image of a spiraling circle; as it nears the center, the lines form jagged teeth surrounding an abyssal eye. Known also as the Maw of Chaos.Crown of Chaos
A carving in the shape of fiery stalks, shaped like Sebut Sekt's head tendrils. Usually held by cultists of a high rank as a tool to invoke an Eidolon.Scar of Atmos
A vertical slashing line drawn in flesh and stapled. Branded on new mothers after birth to mark ascension. The child is raised by the cult as a Changeling.Obsidian Bones
The old bones of cultists cast into molten fire and held in obsidian like amber. Used in Fire, Glass, or Profane, conjurations, or other Spell-Craft.Allies & Adversaries
Sebut Sekt's Legions of Over-World
Sebut Sekt is like a storm among them, each one attempting to avoid being trampled by the realm itself. Aberrations known as Fractals appear from her blood and wounds, devouring everything. Creatures, such as the Demon Fly and Impish Moth are considered to be direct agents of Sebut Sekt, like familiars. Other pets include her pleroma of Flesh Golems.
Greater entities, such as Avatars, Eidolon, and Vestiges either inhabit Dungeons or similar pocket Dimensions of Over-World. Demon Lords dominate large portions of the lower layers of Over-World, forming their own societies at Sebut Sekt's beck and call. Each knows with a whisper of their name, they'll be standing before the Maiden of Miseries.
Her direct children, the Primal Eidolon, includes entities such as Atmos, The First Unborn, and its twin, Osmas, the Second Shadow. Mara Bao is considered the First Daughter of Sebut Sekt, and is loyal to her.
Other Eidola and Demon Lords may attempt to thwart Sebut Sekt, much to her amusement. She's known to reward clever attempts with more resources. Otherwise, her cruelty is legendary, and her perception of Over-World is without peer.

"I like them. They speak in ruinous poetry. What they can't pronounce, they demolish."~Sebut Sekt
Sect of the Sekted
"Now, this is an interesting sect. Sebut Sekt. Sect. Oh, they know how to speak to me, don't they?
I dream of the things I will create once I've taken my final form. Perhaps their visions are what inspires their torment.
No less. We shall see, my little ones, what may still become once the Final Seal is removed. To live in your dreams... well, suffice to say, it will not be enough. Good effort. Keep trying."~ Sebut Sekt
"No. This simply can not be. Are you aware of the processes that occur within the mind when it realizes it has been sufficiently tricked?
No. I can tell from the dumbstruck look on your face. Oh, please stop smirking as if you knew. Ah- better. I can look at you again.
Yes. Once a deception has been revealed, a truth dissolves from a healthy tether into a viral chemical. A contagion, seeping fear, despair, confusion, into a single torrential tear. It soaks the meat. Yes, it is Divine.
I offer salvation though fear is also amusing. Now... who are you again?"

As long as she remains amused by the performance, Sebut Sekt may impede her own abilities upon an individual, demonstrating her own ability to restrain herself, but not for long.
"Please. Do not let me stop you. This noise is positively stimulating. It shall accompany your companions screams nicely. Do not stop."~Sebut Sekt

A great, very inspiring article about deities. I like the many details you included. Even though I kind of love her, I don't really want to meet her.
Here are my Entries for the water continent Ulűri̋qi̋
LOL I must admit, I've laughed each Time I've seen this comment, because I can't disagree! I empathize with her tragedy but the reality of her existence is too dangerous. Thus she exists in paradox, caught between creation but bound to destruction. I'm very much looking forward to exploring all of her interactions with Arc Sagas!
