Hearthflame Matchbook
"This matchstick creates flames that can you can use at a distance! Light your candles, your fireplace, your stove- all of these, from the comfort of your den! Never set your hair or clothes on fire again! Heart Co. Tinders! Creating warm memories and safe environments- one matchstick at a time!"
A Hearthflame Matchstick comes with a book of 10 matches. This magical item allows the owner of the book to create small flames at remote distances up to 15ft. away. Matches from this book magically decay as the flame dies, leaving no ash or trace of its presence. It is an invaluable item for starting campfires, igniting a cooking stove or tinder, and lighting candles or torches.
This item works in most ways like the HearthFlame spell, except it has reduced range and doesn't provide +5 Proficiency on Cooking Proficiency checks. Hearthflame Matchbooks can't extinguish flames, but it can create them or resist them, as described below.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
By striking the head of 1 of the 10 matches, a small fire appears where you designate- as long as the area meets the requirements of the Hearth Flame spell, the owner can ignite any fire within 10 ft. A source of fuel for the fire must be provided to keep the fire going. The matchstick dissipates with magical energy. The owner of the Hearthflame Matchbook can have multiple targets for this effect. A Hearthflame Matchbook can be used to ignite multiple fires. By using 1 Action, the owner burns a new match for a new fire. Subtract 1 from the Matchbook each time this effect is used.
The owner can only have 1 active Hearthflame Matchbook at any time; this provides a condition upon the Spell-Stack, until the last flame created by this magical item has been extinguished or the matchbook has been consumed of the matches. The owner must use one Matchbook, unless that item has been lost, bartered or discarded in favor of the new Matchbook. Subtract -10 from the buy or sell price of a matchbook for each consumed match. Matchbooks can't be used to light other matchbooks; flames don't ignite the matchbook, if left unattended. They will resist the fire if the owner is within 5ft, but will otherwise erupt in harmless flames.
This secondary effect can be used to resist incoming Fire or Burning Damage from an existing fire. By consuming a number of matches, the owner can resist one targeted Fire effect. This use of Hearthflame Matchbook consumes the Matchbook, but can be used as a Free Action if the item is already in hand.
Manufacturing process
The artisan creates a chemical compoud, using the sulfur as a combustible material. While rolling the ash of the incense into the compound, the artisan casts (or provides) the Hearth Flame spell and casts it into the ash of the incense. Together, a chemical compound forms, and the mixture is applied to the matchsticks, which have also been enchanted with a casting of the spell. Glue the matches into the matchbook and bind all spell components.

History
Casters and Alchemists wanted safer means to produce small, controlled flames. Application of the Hearth Flame spell led to the development of the Hearthflame Matchbook.
Significance
Hearthflame Matchbooks are common household items that are used to start small fires, such as for a fireplace, camping site, or a cooking stove. Controlled flames, such as for pipes and candles, are also acceptable targets for this magical matchbook. In a flash, it can also provide the user with a modicum of fire protection.
Once each Match has been consumed from the book, a slip of Fire Resistant Paper remains!

Cool item. The fact that the matchbook itself is immune to fire would be a interesting feature to play with - I would jot notes on the back of them that I wanted to be on fireproof paper.
: D Yea! I suppose once you're done with the matchbook, you could probably keep the book itself as a slip of fireproof paper! Let's see the DM burn this note! ^^
