Personal history

Born on the 4th of Justicebringer, year 1775 of the Age of Awakening in Inhonoris to high elf nobles Averus and Zylphine.   Kaelynn was an only child, like most high elves are, born into the responsibilities that come with being nobility in Inhonoris. From a young age she had tutors in all manner of subjects, including music and etiquette, to make her a worthy heir. Someone in her family had been on the council of Inhonoris ever since the high elves first settled there at the first years of the Age of Parting. As such she was also expected to become elected into the council sooner or later after reaching adulthood. Although she wouldn't be considered adult until she reached a hundred years old, Averus insisted that they had to start her education early.   Seeing as different tutors came to her house every day and she didn't go to school with others, Kaelynn had a quite lonely childhood. It was too uncommon for children to be born close enough in age to each other to make public school a necessity in Inhonoris. Other parents typically let the children out to play with others but Avernus thought that Kaelynn should spend every second on studying and she led a very sheltered life. During occasions where her parents would have guests or be invited to parties, Kaelynn was told to speak only when spoken to by an adult and not to run off and play with anyone closer to her age.   This continued until Kaelynn was about fifty years old. Zylphine had finally managed to convince Averus that Kaelynn had to be allowed outside on her own and socialise with others closer to her age or she'd never learn enough about the world outside of books and scrolls. Kaelynn loved her new freedom even though it also frightened her. She had no friends and no idea what to do with her time when she was no longer confined to her home. A lot of it ended up being spent at the library where she read the type of things that her father didn't allow in their home. Silly romance novels and stories of great adventures. She also ended up often going to the big temples of Corellon and Sehanine, loving the gardens surrounding them and the lovely art pieces.   In 1924 Averus told Kaelynn that she was now betrothed to be married in a year to the son of another prominent noble who was also on the council. The son's name was Castien Aeqirelle. She had met him at various social events but they had barely spoken to one another and from their short interactions she'd already been able to tell that she didn't like him at all. Kaelynn pleaded with Zylphine to help her make Averus change his mind but once her father had decided something it was final.   Kaelynn started going to the temple of Sehanine every day to pray in hope that a goddess of lovers would be able to help her. It was there that she met a human adventurer from Yraldrig named Zane Dundragon. Kaelynn had never met a human before and she was immediately fascinated and attracted to him. They began meeting every day at the temple gardens to share stories about their lives and things that they had read. Zane told her that he'd only planned to stay in Inhonoris for a week as the city at that time was very inhospitable to outsiders, especially those from Yraldrig, but once he met her he didn't know if he'd ever be able to leave. The two fell in love during the course of a few months and met most days in one of the many places available in the temple garden for secret trysts.   Meanwhile wedding preparations had begun at the starting months of 1925 and Zylphine, as the mother of the bride, was in charge of most of it. Zylphine began questioning where Kaelynn was going every day, staying out practically from dawn until dusk and then coming home brimming with a joy that she had never had before. Kaelynn tried to hide it but eventually she couldn't hold it in anymore and told her mother about the man that she had met, thinking that her mother would be on her side. Zylphine was appalled and terrified and forbade Kaelynn from going to see Zane again, going so far as to lock Kaelynn up in her room.   After a week of imprisonment, feeling sick to her stomach every day, Kaelynn was losing hope of ever seeing Zane again. She thought that he would probably think that she had grown bored of him and was going to go through with her marriage to Castien after all. Then one night during her trance she was broken out of it by a sound at her window. It was Zane who had managed to scale the side of the mansion and had come to break her out of there. Kaelynn quickly packed whatever she thought she'd need on the road and Zane helped her climb down a rope and they fled into the night, leaving Inhonoris behind.   They travelled from place to place in case someone would come looking for them but had to settle down somewhere when they realised that Kaelynn was pregnant. She gave birth to their daughter, Xienna, on Changebringer 22nd in the year 1926 of the Age of Awakening. It was difficult to raise a child with no real home and barely any funds. They decided to always stay within Eischland as that was the only country they knew that was fully accepting of half-elves. As the years went by without them being discovered by anyone sent by Kaelynn's father or her betrothed, they grew almost complacent. Instead of relocating to a different continent once Xienna got older as they had originally planned to do, they stayed and lived in the same place for almost a year to have Xienna go to school.   1934 was the year that the worst happened. Men sent out by Averus had found their home. Kaelynn heard them coming with her keen ears trained by over a hundred years of musical schooling. She hid Xienna away and told her to stay hidden no matter what. Zane tried to fight the mercenaries but they were too many and they cut him down right in front of Kaelynn and then dragged her away. She never said a word to them about her daughter and they didn't ask so she hoped with all her heart that they didn't know - or most importantly that her father didn't know.   During the travel back to Inhonoris the small group was attacked by a young green dragon. He killed all of the mercenaries but kept Kaelynn alive, bringing her back to his lair to be one of his treasures. Once more she was imprisoned, only getting fresh air and sunlight once when the dragon, Argam, decided to move his lair. There she remained in her cold, dark chamber for fifteen years until a stroke of luck or perhaps fate happened and she was rescued by the adventuring party which included her daughter.
