Ranching in the Fungal Steppes
As permanent structures are rare in the region, and frequently lost to tornadoes, most people here are nomadic. Large animals are a crucial resource for nomadic people on the steppes. Meat and hides are the cornerstone of survival in this windswept land, and the region is oddly rich in varieties of webbing.
To fulfill these needs, many tribes utilize ranching for their agriculture. Raising herds of animals adapted to the windy plains, mainly goats and spiders, the nomadic groups can glean enough resources to survive. Spider silk is harvested to make clothes, shelter, ropes, and anchors strong enough to resist the blasting wind.
