Flutter Glider

Traveling between braches is a difficult task. For anyone on foot, the journey up or down also requires walking trunkward then leafward again, often for as many miles as it takes to go up or down. Even if the destination is in sight from above or below, it can take weeks of walking to get there. For those who have a bit of coin, the journey may be simplified by taking a flutterby glider.   First engineered by the enterprising shipwrights of Sunswell, these gliding boats were inspired by the flocks of graceful butterflies drawn to the sweet waters of the crowntop city. By combining the gondolas already in use with the wing design of the beloved insects, the builders were able to make flapping boats that could travel between branches. The gliders have four butterfly wings powered by the rotation of gears on a crank, but can be rowed by a strong arm in a pinch. Although they rarely have the power to take true flight, this design allows the fluuterby gliders to flap gently toward their destination. In keeping with the beauty of Sunswell, these gliders are traditionally painted in brilliant colors matching the butterflies that so inspired them.
