Bahram

Government

Bahram is a fledgling settlement in the center of Trapper's Island South.  The people of Bahram are made up of survivors and wanderers from other destroyed settlements.  Traditionally, they relied on the expertise of a patriarch/matriarch/elder in order to survive in the wilderness.  Following the rebuilding of the settlement and its official founding in 100 AC, the Patriarch continued to provide leadership and guidance to its inhabitants.

Defences

Bahram is undeveloped and mostly exposed to the elements.  However, thanks to the efforts of Neven, Boat, and Diocletian during the defense of the settlement, some modest defensive infrastructure exists.  This includes modest palisades and some spike walls placed near strategic entryways.

History

During the month of Sunfire in 100 AC, settlers broke ground on a plot of land and built modest cabins and a central storehouse.  The settlers, led by their Patriarch, hoped to carve out a life in the wilderness of Trapper's Island South.  Unfortunately, the settlement was burned down by bandits in the following month of Embermoon.  Left with almost nothing, the settlers were forced to rebuild their meager existence.   Fortunately, two adventurers, Boat and Diocletian, and their companion Weird Guy arrived in the settlement shortly after the attack.  The adventurers were chasing after the bandits to recover their stolen wolf companion, but they took some time to help the settlers rebuild.  The settlers were grateful and loaned the heroes a horse and cart to help them on their journey.   The next day, the adventurers returned after successfully rescuing their companion, Ko-Di, with the help of a group of recently befriended giant eagles.  Unfortunately, Boat and Diocletian also brought with them the risk of retaliation by the bandits on the settlers.  After some deliberation, Boat and Diocletian decided to help defend the settlement - but they were not alone.  Another wanderer named Neven arrived in the settlement the night before and was determined to repay the settler's kindness by aiding in the defense.  Together, the heroes and settlers fought of the bandits, killing the lietenant and capturing their leader, Vance Valerian.     In honor of their heroic defense, Boat, Diocletian, and Neven were asked to name the settlement they had helped save.  Neven decided on the name of Bahram, a word that means "victorious."  With the threat of the bandits removed, Bahram was able to continue growing and has been doing so in relative safety to this day.

Points of interest

In celebration of their founders and saviors, the people of Bahram constructed a modest home next to a young oak tree for the The Seasoned Metes.  The house sits in Bahram to this day - a home for the party if and when they should ever need it.
