This year during WorldEmber I want to focus on two things; the Cythrian Empire and the timeline of Aranath.
For the Cythrian Empire I've already created alot around imperial culture and around the border city Tycho. Therefore my focus here will be to expand on the capital and the different regions of the Empire.
The focus on the timeline is so I can better get an overview of different events that I only have notes of and at the same time I get the chance to expand on them.
Week Two
I've been working on my
World Primer , which focus on the countries which my players can choose to come from in our DnD games.
Week Three
During this week I've focused on really analyzing the media which I've consumed, to see what I can use in my worldbuilding or story telling. It has been a busy week though, so I've only watched New Girl and a swedish game show which is translated to "The Traitors", a great show with alot of intrigue
Currently reading Jujutsu Kaisen as my manga and Killing Commendatore by Haruki Murakami is my current book read. Havent really got that far in either of them to get any real use for my own worldbuilding and storytelling.
My music for worldbuilding is still alot of The Witcher 2 and 3 soundtrack and of course the soundtrack to The Loed of the Rings. I've also tried some Baldur's Gate soundtrack.
Week Four
No new community for me, but hey WorldEmber is a community in of itself right?
My most important community is still my players though, and they support me alot, one of them even print some of my articles and puts them in his notebook as "his observations and research of the world". I also shared a few articles with some collegues and my father. They are not even close to being as neardy as I am but they encouraged me.
Schedule is harder to decide on, however as I'm on a 50% parental leave I can write while my daughter is asleep. I will start of with the calender as it will give a much broader impact on the whole continent of Aranath and I will finally be able to organize different historical events, even if I don't do that part during WorldEmber.
Thanks for reading and I hope whomever reads this will enjoy my WorldEmber contributions.
I haven't seen the Swedish version of The Traitors, but I really enjoy the British version. I hope you have a lot of fun this WorldEmber and that you meet your goal!
