Summer Camp 2025
Homework
Week 1
Nourishment can mean alot in the world of Aranath. Generally, as in the majority of the populace have access to their basic needs. Depending on where in the land you are the basic might take more effort to obtain, aswell as your social stature of course. Most people live in different kinds of communities which help each other in one way or another.
What nourish each country or individual is different. For example Venea is in dire need of more young individuals as most youths have left the country for other opportunities, while the citiziens of one of Lilicea's cities might crave a new musical piece.
Using the examples above, if nothing happens in Venea their population will rapidly decline and that could invite all kinds of terrors. Lilicea as an example is harder, but let us imagine that the government decided to end its very favourable stance on cultural development and happenings. That would most likely cause both an religious and sociatel upheaval but probably incite rebellion before that.
Week 2
I haven’t really decided on which parts of Aranath I would like to focus on during this Summer Camp. The most logical parts would be places that I will soon use, such as Bariatok or the Empire but those places doesn’t excite me at the moment. I would like to create more around the countries of Lilicea and Sidonia, so I will probably jumper between those four locations, depending on what the summer camp inspires me to write.
All humans of Aranath share the same origin, however that is very far back in time and now the human culture is very different depending on where you are. One thing all human cultures share though is their pantheon of dieties. The different dieties are favoured differently through out Aranath, but for example Sidonia and Lilicea share alot of culture, values and indeed prime dieties. This could be an interesting thing to explore while writing.
As Aranath is mostly for my players and myself its homepage doesn’t need to be inviting per say, but it wouldn’t hurt to make it a bit more interesting. I however need to clean it up a bit more, make it easier to navigate.
Early mistakes that I regret now… not using the mention part of WorldAnvil, it is not fun goding back through all my old articles and updating them.
Week 3
Oh, metamorphis is a great theme for my world at the moment! A large part of the continent has been imperial vassals for about two decades, which wasn’t wanted to begin with. During the last few years rebellion has brewed and will probably soon ignite an uprising. What will the Emperor's respons be, only time (Summer Camp maybe) will tell.
I haven’t read anything by Neil Gaiman, so I picked up one of his book from a second hand store. I will also listen to the soundtrack of Path of Exile, which I haven’t played but heard is supposed to have a great soundtrack.
Week 4
Most of the common folk of Aranath don't delve too long on the thoughts of the future, at least not longer than to the next season. There is rumour (and plots) of insurrection against the empire in a few countries.
My writing schedule will be during the evenings as my daughter takes up the rest of the day.
I will use my phone to jot down ideas while traveling.
The players of my DnD game will be used… to achieve my writing goals! I usually ask them what they would like to know about the world and then try to answer them with my articles.
Oh, Neal Gaiman's work is amazing :) Have fun with SC and good luck with all your goals!
Thanks! I've heard good things about his writing but never had the opportunity or time to read anything by him yet. Hope you have fun with SC aswell!
