Structure of the Isondale Pits
Note: This is a generalized list of items that tend to be true for most arenas in Isondale however, each arena will have more tailored content that may not be included here.
1. Ranking System – Fighters are categorized based on their skill and reputation:
- Iron Tier – Novices, newcomers, and prisoners fighting for survival.
- Bronze Tier – Competent fighters who have won several matches.
- Silver Tier – Recognized warriors with a record of victories.
- Gold Tier – The elite fighters, highly respected, often considered local celebrities.
- Champion’s Circle – Reserved for those who have dominated the pits, earning titles and rewards.
2. Fight Types
- Single Combat – One-on-one duels, either to first blood, knockout, or death (if both agree).
- Grand Melee – Multiple fighters in a free-for-all battle.
- Beast Hunts – Fighters take on monstrous creatures.
- Team Battles – Groups of fighters competing together.
- Challenge Matches – Fighters call out others for special grudge matches.
3. Rewards & Incentives
- Gold & Sponsorships – Fighters can earn coin purses based on their rank and bets placed on them.
- Magic & Unique Items – Champions may be gifted enchanted weapons, armor, or trophies.
- Glory & Influence – The best fighters gain fame, political connections, and even the ability to demand special privileges.
4. Notable Fighters & Figures
- Pit Master Varos – A former champion who now oversees the fights, ensuring fairness and enforcing the rules.
- "The Red Ghost" – A mysterious, masked fighter who never speaks and has never been unmasked.
- Garrik Stormborn – A brutal ex-mercenary with a reputation for finishing fights quickly.
- Nia "The Wildcat" Velora – A rogue-turned-fighter who uses agility and cunning to outmaneuver stronger opponents.
