Tabaxi

Tabaxi live in small families or groups called clowders, which typically consist of one to four couples and their children. Some clowders are instead polygamous groups of up to six individuals. Typically a clowder doesn't exceed fifteen individuals, as larger numbers makes organization and travel difficult. These clowders are heavily mobile, travelling around a nation or the entirety of a continent. Often these are engaged in some kind of trade or merchant activity, but not always. In areas where tabaxi are more numerous, several clowders can unite into a pride, which averages around forty individuals.   Tabaxi follow a matriarchy, in which the most distinguished female leads the clowder or pride. In larger clowders and prides, he matriarch is chosen through demonstration of skill and can be challenged once a year for her position - the exact date varies from clowder to clowder, however the day is referred to as the Matriarch Match. In smaller clowders, which often only have one or two females, the oldest one takes the matriarch position.

Tabaxi are believed to be native to a lost continent far accross the ocean, with the first few tabaxi having come on a ship and gotten wrecked on Valiant. Currently, tabaxi are native to the Kingdom of Valiant and the Great Desert, however small groups or families are known to travel all over Aradia. They favor the countryside, especially forests or heavily-obscured grassland areas that allow them to travel stealthily. Tabaxi are rarely found in cities, however travelling tabaxi merchants are not an uncommon occurrence.
