Finnean appears to be a golden sheath meant to hold a shortsword. He is decorated with runes and an eye design at the center of the sheath. Though it is clearly magical upon any level of inspection, trying to identify the sheath reveals only that his name is Finnean.
He is capable of speech and seems to believe himself to be a human man named Finnean, a member of the Guild of the Golden Gauntlet, and a beginner mage studying the art of 'weapon-calling'.
Level 1
Finnean is able to summon a +1 weapon of a type that he has studied. In order to 'study' a weapon, Finnean must be able to look at it for an hour, which can be done as part of a short or long rest. This weapon can be wielded by anyone Finnean considers an ally and does not have to be wielded by the same person that is carrying Finnean himself. The weapon must remain within 30ft of Finnean or it disappears. Finnean can also dismiss the summoned weapon at will. The person carrying Finnean gains advantage to Initiative.
North Highland Adventure
In the year 1065 P.A., Finnean was found by [name pending] while the group was trapped in a tear between the planes. He appeared to have been trapped inside a Blood Ooze for many years. When questioned by the group, Finnean explained that he was a member of the Guild of the Golden Gauntlet, an adventuring guild that no one in the group knew about, though the name sounded familiar to some of them. Despite Seth pointing out Finnean being a magical sheath, he seemed to believe that he was a man and that everyone else was pulling his leg. He also mentioned that he believed the current year to be 2215 by the Zellian Calendar, which was both incorrect and yet another concept no one in the group heard of. Despite this, the group promised Finnean to get him out of the haunted house.
