WorldEmber Prep 2025
Welcome back, guys!
It's been a while that I've been active around here. Yes, I wrote a bit for Spooktober, even if it wasn't nearly enough to get the badge, but alas... I am so glad to be back. Writing for Aradeia and my fanfictions keeps me somewhat settled, so I am happy to share my ideas and my progress with you. To start off with the three steps to success:
Step 1 - Pledge your goal!
Choosing my area of focus:
Last year was the year of the Wilderness and even though there is still so much more to tell about that vast and ever-changing region, I would prefer to focus on Elethien, the land of the Elves, this time. Elethien's most commonly known cities are Camorand in the West and Sythaline in the North - two densely populated metropolitan cities reigned by Queen Lumaia and Prince Olander. In 2025, I gathered new information on these beautiful people (they're siblings) and I can't wait to share the new input with you!
In connection with it, I will also have to review the articles about Lumaia, her child and her husband. There is a lot of work to be done, and I am sure that they will take up a lot of space - which I will need to fill if I want to achieve my goals this year ;)
For WorldEmber 2025, I want to pledge the same amount of words as I pledge for NovelEmber this year (and yes, I do know that I am fully insane): 50.000 words!
The reason is simple. I missed Aradeia. I missed creating and sharing my stories and seeing where my characters come from and how they will end and what will happen to their planet, after the series is done and... there is just so much I still want to tell! So many stories! I wish I could just pull them out of my head and serve them to you, but it will take months, if not years to note it all down. Just one more reason to be quicker about it, I guess. We never know how much time we have left around here.
Sooo.... This is my pledge doc for this year:
Step 2 - The Prep Bingo
For the WorldEmber Prep Bingo, I chose the last row in the square:
Re-reading my core articles, joining the community, reviewing my world's visual appearance, going for a walk and describing my world with adjectives. They seemed easy enough for me, and I wanted to finish some of them today.
I rejoined the community which I am very happy about (and who I will message after this post).
Also, I went for a walk yesterday, which was nice. Yet, I want to do another one during the weekend, so I can get into nature and enjoy the fall a bit more. (This year's fall is just perfect - colourful leaves, perfect balance between mild and colder weather, both sunny and rainy days.)
For the last bit of the last row, I wanted to write about the adjectives I came up with.
What adjectives describe my world?
When I think of Aradeia, I think of all things magical, mystical, whimsical, diverse, cozy and complex. For me, it was always a connection of the colourful and perfectly harmless, hiding the most dangerous and dark themes known to us. It's the smile hiding fears and sorrows, the joyous glint in someone's eye that covers the fears of being rejected. I guess 'bittersweet' comes to mind. Aradeia is like a second home to me. A world that noone else has seen but me and that stays with me when real life is just too much to handle. I hope that one day, Aradeia can be a place like that for you, too. A retreat in a world that is slowly going insane, as it seems. We live in dangerous times. Noone can predict what will happen and that is why we need things that anchor us.
I wish all of you the best in the world and that your creations will carry the light that we might not see in everyday life right now. Let the magic of our creations keep us alert and happy. It's something nobody can take away from us. All the best to all of you and see you in the next part of Prep Bingo :)

Best of luck with your 50k goals - that's huge and I hope you'll get there :) Have fun with WE! I really enjoyed the description of your world. It's obvious from it how passionate you are about it!
Thank you so much! I'm glad that this article has found you and that I was able to show my excitement for Aradeia. It's very dear to me :) All the best with Worldember and see you around!
