Dunstan
The Deep Warden, The Cave-Father (a.k.a. Dubnomar, Itziar, Yorgos)
Dunstan is the god of the soil, stones, caves, and things which can be found underground. He is a god of miners and farmers. Dunstan is portrayed as a fairly silent, passive, god. He does not offer much in the way of guidance, doctrines, or ambition for his followers. He is prayed to and given offerings for bountiful harvests. Most places consider him a generous god for giving mortals the soil and allowing it to grow crops, even if those harvests are not always as great as they could be.
As a god of the underground, he is associated with caves and with things such as gems and metal ores. It is believed that, while plants and soil are a gift, gems, metals, and the like are things he hoards and which are only given to those who show the bravery, ingenuity, strength and perseverance to wrest them free. If anyone fails to show these qualities in proper measure, they are sure to invite Dunstan's displeasure and possibly bring disaster upon themselves.
Dunstan is also the patron god of things which dwell underground. Because such creatures are often monstrous, sometimes this extends to dominion over all monsters.
In the Central Pantheon
In the Central Pantheon Dunstan is the god of soil, stone, and caves, like his Imperial counterpart. He is believed to provide good soil as well as gems and metals in moderation to those whom he favors. Those who are too greedy and attempt to extract more than what Dunstan is willing to provide raise his ire and provoke response from his underground children. Dunstan is a miserly God who hoards his valuables and doles them out only in small portions and to those who have made sufficient offerings to him.In the Western Pantheon - Dubnomar
In the Western Pantheon, Dubnomar is the ancestor god of caves and deep places of the world. It is believed that, rather than ascend, he broke the cycle of rebirth by his soul being trapped deep within the confines of this world. Because of this he is believed to be a bitter and vengeful deity who both hates the light of the surface world and deeply envies it. His children not only include monsters underground, but often includes Goblinoids and/or Dwarves, depending on the racial tolerance of the area. He actively encourages his children to prey upon the surface dwellers whenever possible and to take what they can from them. He also seeks to ensnare the souls attempting to pass through to the Other World which he then sometimes commands to seek out other surface dwellers. In the Southern Pantheon - Itziar
In the Southern Pantheon, Itziar is the goddess of dirt, clay, rocks, gems, precious metal, and graves. In addition to her domain of dirt and rocks, which is pretty similar to her purview in other pantheons (but without the connection to plants), she is believed to watch over the graves of those who have been buried. She is venerated by gravediggers, graveyard caretakers, masons, miners, and especially potters. In the Eastern Pantheon - Yorgos
Yorgos is the god of the land and all that which lies within it. He is the stones, the caves, the gems, ores, mountains, and soil. Dunstan is among the most simple and straight-forward of the Eastern Pantheon. Like Nephele, his domain is physical and clearly defined, as opposed to many of the more esoteric domains of the other gods. Unlike Nephele, Yorgos is very consistent and adverse to change. He is slow to action and prone to maintaining a course once set. It is believed that disasters such as earthquakes and volcanoes come as a result of someone or something (often one of the other gods or goddesses) forcing Yorgos to change his course of action. Yorgos does not give up the gifts of the land easily, but does not begrudge those who have toiled to claim them, provided they give proper reverence. Yorgos is one half of the dual deity Somatios, the deity of the physical world and material creation. In the Northern Pantheon
