The Hordebound
The Hordebound, disciples of Roknar, believe that through unwavering strength, unbreakable unity, and relentless conquest, they will honor their god and secure their place as his chosen people. They stand ready to unleash their fury on the world, knowing that in war, they find their true purpose and their deity's favor.
Structure
The Hordebound is organized as a warrior hierarchy. At its pinnacle stands the High Chieftain, the voice of Roknar, the ultimate authority in matters of faith and war. Below the High Chieftain are tribal chieftains, each responsible for a specific faction or clan within the church. The faithful are divided into warbands, led by a seasoned veteran known as a Warlord. These warbands form the backbone of the church, with each warrior's loyalty pledged to their Warlord and, by extension, to Roknar.
Culture
The Hordebound culture revolves around strength, unity, and conquest. They value martial prowess and tribal loyalty above all else. Honoring Roknar is inseparable from their way of life, and they believe that by emulating his indomitable spirit, they will secure their place in the afterlife. War is a constant presence, and every aspect of their culture, from art to song, is infused with the ethos of battle.
Mythology & Lore
According to Hordebound mythology, Roknar emerged from the fiery heart of the world as the first orc, goblin, and hobgoblin joined forces to wage war against the chaotic forces threatening their existence. Roknar's triumph solidified his position as the Hordefather and their eternal protector. His divine essence flows through the veins of every member of his horde, granting them strength, resilience, and the unyielding spirit of conquest.
Tenets of Faith
Strength Above All: The Hordebound believe that strength is the highest virtue. They strive to become formidable warriors, mastering both martial and spiritual power. To be weak is to dishonor Roknar.
Unity Through Loyalty: Loyalty to one's tribe and Warlord is sacred. Betrayal is a grave offense, and only through unity can the Hordebound hope to achieve their divine destiny.
Conquest Is Glory: Conquest is not just about territorial expansion but also personal growth. The Hordebound seek to conquer their own weaknesses and limitations, as well as their foes. Victory in battle is the surest path to glory in Roknar's eyes.
