Skathi & Esmeray The twin moons of Ar'keth, Skathi the close moon, is present year-round, Esmeray has a strange orbit, sometimes far from the planet, but every few years its orbit brings its close In the depths of winter every 4 years Skathi and Esmeray blot out the sun, their orbits bringing a series of Eclipses that block the majority of the sunlight for most of Winter, combined with the Heavy rains and overcast skies present threw the winter months, The coming of Esmeray is seen by many as a bad omen, the Dark winter brings food shortages, diseases, and entities that operate in shadow thrive in these dark months, The beasts and strange creatures that Enhabit the Cherian forests roam further some bold enough to attack nearby towns and settlements surrounding the Forests. The oceans become rabid, storms and large crashing waves, only brave and foolhardy sailors take to Ar'Kethian waters, many a ship has been claimed by Esmeray's Wrath, so much so that a tall tale arose, of Esmeray being a Fallen god of nature, defeated and banished, and every few years she returns to visit her wrath on the world that scorned and caused her downfall. Though no official records of Such a deity exist in Ar'kethian records.
