Dreamweavers

The Church of Ihmir the Dreamer, known as the Slumber Sanctuary or the Dreamwavers, is a mystical and enigmatic religious institution dedicated to the worship of Ihmir, the God of Dreams, Sleep, and the Night. This ethereal faith revolves around the understanding and manipulation of dreams and the profound mysteries of the night.

Structure

Somnolent Sovereign Adrianna: As the spiritual leader and representative of Ihmir, Somnolent Sovereign Adrianna oversees the entire church. Her role is to interpret dreams, deliver prophecies, and guide the faithful in understanding the messages from the God of Dreams.   Dreambinders: These skilled interpreters of dreams and visions assist Somnolent Sovereign Adrianna. They often serve as advisors and seers to individuals seeking guidance through their dreams.   Somnambulists: The clergy and priests responsible for conducting rituals and ceremonies. They also provide spiritual counsel and perform rites related to sleep and dreams.   Sentinels of the Night: Guardians of sacred dream temples and reliquaries, as well as protectors of those who seek solace in the realm of dreams. They ensure the safety of dreamers and sacred dream sites.

Culture

The culture of the Church of Ihmir revolves around embracing the duality of dreams. They view dreams as both a source of profound wisdom and a realm where the darkest fears reside. As such, the Dreamweavers emphasize balance, teaching their followers to navigate the ever-shifting tapestry of dreams with mindfulness and respect.   Dreamweavers hold regular gatherings called "Slumber Serenades" where they come together to share dreams, seek guidance, and discuss the mysteries of the night. These gatherings are infused with a sense of wonder and reverence for the ethereal realm, with candlelit ceremonies that honor Ihmir.

Mythology & Lore

The church's mythology tells of Ihmir as the weaver of dreams, who can unravel the threads of destiny within the nocturnal realm. Ihmir's twin moons symbolize the dual nature of dreams: one moon represents the realm of blissful dreams and aspirations, while the other embodies the realm of nightmares and dread. It is believed that Ihmir's tears are the source of the elixir of sleep, which can bring solace or torment depending on one's intentions.   The faithful believe that when they dream, their consciousness communes with Ihmir's realm, allowing them to receive messages, visions, and even prophecies. Nightmares are seen as warnings, guiding individuals away from potential dangers.

Tenets of Faith

Embrace the Night: The faithful are encouraged to embrace the mysteries of the night and the dreams it brings. Every dream, whether blissful or harrowing, carries a message from Ihmir.   Balance in All Things: The Dreamweavers teach that just as dreams have both light and dark aspects, life too is a balance of joys and sorrows. Seek equilibrium in your actions and emotions.   Listen to the Stars: Followers are taught to pay attention to celestial events, as they are believed to be whispers from Ihmir. The alignment of stars and moons is thought to carry special significance in the interpretation of dreams and prophecies.   The Church of Ihmir the Dreamer welcomes all who seek to understand the realm of dreams and the divine messages it may hold. It is a place where the faithful learn to navigate the boundaries between dreams and reality, seeking wisdom, inspiration, and solace in the ethereal embrace of the God of Dreams.
