The Wayfarer's Hand

Written by Pookas Kreations

This is a humble yet steadfast group of layfolk, clergy, and healers dedicated to relieving suffering and rekindling hope across the realms. Through acts of mercy, shared bread, and the wisdom of skilled hands, we aid the weary, the wounded, the poor, and the wandering.
  • They will provide basic mercy and relief such as shelter, clothes, and food.
  • Hearth and haven lodgings include simple guest huts or shared longhouses, sanctuaries for those fleeing violence.
  • Children of the Hearth provides schooling for children, such as apprenticeships
  • Healing hands and soul soothing, this includes herbal healing, midwifery, blessings, and solace from traveling monks or clergy, even campfire gatherings for song, storytelling, and grief sharing.
Most of the people who receive this help are orphans, widows, veterans, refugees, plague survivors, outcasts, disaster victims, displaced villagers, the poor, pilgrims, and wanderers.   This help isn't always in a static place. It could be found in someone's home, a church, temple, warehouse, or even a traveling wagon.
  • Hope tokens: wooden or bronze discs given to the poor, tradable for bread, soap, or lodging at participating abbeys and farmsteads.
  • The Ember Wagon: a covered cart drawn by donkeys that travels the roads bearing food, healing, and warm words.
  • Blessing Bell: a town bell rung at dusk by fellowship members when aid is available at the town hall.
