Stone's Early Life
Stone was a young male Orc (4-6) of the Shattered Boulder Clan.
One day he was playing with his pet Dire Badger Blaze. As they were rambling around, they got too close to where the apprentice mages were practicing.
Two of them were dueling together and something odd happened. All of the spells misfired at the same time. A horrible sound of dissonance, a flash, a concussion, and a cloud of dust settled around Stone and Blaze.
A sparkling dust passed through them and settled on the ground. Besides this, nothing seemed to happen. It tingled a little as it touched him. Stone started sensing Blaze's emotions and flashes of his senses (sight, hearing, and smell). He started to feel dizzy, so he decided to take a nap.
Stone had the oddest dream of playing with Blaze. They were running towards each other. There was a flash as Blaze ran through him and disappeared. He could still sense him.
He suddenly woke up and all his senses were more powerful. He was hot, so he splashed water on his face and noticed he had grown short hair on his face. After studying himself, he saw that he had it all over. Throughout the day, he discovered more changes. Dinner wasn't even ready yet, but he left the family hut and went to the shaman to find out what had happened and to find out what to do.
The Shaman explained that magic had been backfiring lately and it was likely from the Dark Star that had appeared in the sky recently. He was one of the recent victims, but at least he had a good(ish) result. His transformation was considered good luck for his tribe and would strengthen them. Stone was told that he needed to train to be a warrior so he could help protect the clan and work on accepting the new abilities that he was gifted. So began Stone's Journey.Remove these ads.
