Food Intolerance

This food sensitivity does not involve the immune system. It pertains to a digestive system reaction where it can't break down a specific food that was eaten. This often happens due to a lack of a specific enzyme needed for digestion. Consuming foods you're intolerant to can cause a range of unpleasant digestive symptoms. In the long term, repeated exposure to intolerant foods can worsen gut health and contribute to other health issues. While food intolerances aren't life-threatening like food allergies.   Common Examples:
  • Lactose is found in milk, cheese, and yogurt.
  • Gluten pertains to any type of grain, such as wheat, corn, rye, etc.
  • Histamine is a chemical naturally found in foods like aged cheese, fermented products, some fish, and red wine.
  • Amines are substances produced when proteins in food start to break down, which occurs during fermentation, storage, or decay.
These are not allergies; they are not serious or life-threatening.
