The Givers
"It is not power, favors, or even admiration that we seek. We are mere children of God who wish to follow His words and the teachings of his Son. Those who are less fortunate should not suffer the punishments of those who have the means to help them. Matthew 5:5 demands it. "
~ Father Alphonso
Public Agenda
The Givers' main agenda is to help those in need with a 'no questions asked' policy. This has garnered the parish some liberties with the local community and law enforcement. Most vagrants and troubled youths are directed to the parish for first offenses in the hopes that they'll turn their lives around. Unlike most establishments that only open to the meek under certain conditions the parish and the members of the Givers open their arms and homes all year round.
There has been some rumors and disputes about the generosity of the parish and its members with the belief that they have a secret agenda. If true, it hasn't presented itself at this time nor is there any concrete evidence of the allegation.
Assets
The Givers don't have any direct assets, but utilize the assets that the parish has available to them. The goods and services include education up to a high school level, a free clinic that specializes in communicable diseases, a food bank, personal hygiene stations and items, clothing, and temporary lodging.
Religion
The Givers are devote Catholics who trace their parish's origins to the early settlement of North America. Though all members are part of the perish, not all members of the parish are Givers.
Ethics
It is required, though all do it willingly, that members give what they can to assist those in need knowing they will be blessed upon the Second Coming. It is not expected that the members sacrifice their well-being to assist those in need, but to offer nothing is an affront to God and his Son.
