The Conflict
Prelude
Prior to the start of the Second Inquisition the Kindred were feasting upon humans without much caution. The new generation of Kindred utilized technology to increase the success of their hunts. The USS discovered one of the more common Dark web sites utilized by the Kindred. During their surveillance and intelligence gathering the USS made contact with the Vatican to address their findings. After a few months of deliberation the USS and the Vatican agreed something had to be done.
The Kindred were unaware of the coming conflict from the humans. They heard rumblings that there were some political deals being made between the Vatican and other governments, but thought nothing of it since mortals could never overpower them.
Historical Significance
Technological Advancement
During the Second Inquisition the United Secret Service(USS) and the Vatican dedicated time and resources to the development of new technologies to eliminate Kindred. One major development was ammunition that would detonate and emit ultra-violet(UV) radiation. This changed the landscape in favor of the mortals due to its direct effect to increase the lethality of the standard foot solider. It was sparsely given out to to ensure that the technology didn't fall into the hands of the Kindred to study and produce counter measures. One flaw of the technology was its lack of armor penetration which made it particularly difficult to use in long range engagements or for area of effect ammunition.
