Perception
Purpose
Prophets of Cain are mainly observers of court procedures to ensure adherence to conduct is observed at all times. They also act as advisors to the higher generation of Vampires who believe Cain is still alive and wish to prevent possible consequences of going against His will.
Courts that don't believe Cain is still alive nor completely trust the true nature of the prophets powers treat them with near disdain. They cannon be excommunicated out from Elysium, but the leadership does everything in their power to make that prophets life as difficult as possible.
Social Status
In Elysiums that see the prophets as a boon they are treated with a lot of respect, fear, and jealousy. Though not seen as more powerful, the status of being a "child" of Cain raises them from the pools of mewling Neonates and preening Ancillae of the court. Courts that see the prophets as a liability look down upon them, cause issues with the Sire's way of life, and harder road to respect and power.
Demographics
It is unknown how many prophets exist at the moment. They are rare enough that some courts doubt their existence.
