Causes
When humans go to visit powerful fey creatures the Fey will attempt to tempt the mortals with many different items that range from food to carnal. When an individual acts in bad faith with the Fey it can manifest in different ways. A hags boil is caused by an individual consuming a bright red apple and angering the Fey.
Symptoms
The first symptom of hags boil is a small raised, red bump on some portion of the individuals body. Eventually it starts to manifest into a larger raised bump that the surrounding portion of the skin presents a molted appearance. The final stage of hags boil is that the boil becomes solid and starts to darken in appearance.
Treatment
The quickest way to cure hags boil is to make amends with the angered Fey, though that can be more difficult than the alternative. The alternative cure to hags boil is to find the personification of the opposite of why you were cursed with hags boil. An example would be if you were cursed due to a lie you have to find the personification of truth. You then have to find a way to infuse the personification into your body and/or soul.
Prevention
The only prevention to hags boil is to work with the Fey in good faith and to keep to your word.
