Personal history
Bruce is a great white shark that was discovered off the coast of Perth, Australia approximately 27 years ago. When he was first discovered in the shore he was tagged by marine biologist for data. After two years of gathering information the marine biologist notices a pattern to his normal migration patterns. Ever August he would visit the shores of Perth and then leave by the beginning of September.
On the third year the marine biologist team waited on shore for him to appear. After two weeks of monitoring he arrived. Determining that it was potentially a fluke they repeated their experiment the next year, and again he appeared. Some of the locals caught wind of the experiment and reported it to the local news stations. When the interview was broadcasted it was just like any other news story there and gone in a moment.
On the fifth year the marine biologist discovered a small gathering of locals welcoming Bruce home. Shocked the marine biologist didn't think much about it, but the locals followed them wherever they went. When Bruce arrived the crowd cheered and celebrated. Since then the city of Perth worked closely with the community to coordinate an event to welcome Bruce home, which the city voted to call Bruce-Mania.
Bruce-mania is now considered an unofficial holiday in the city of Perth, but no one has been able to determine what brings Bruce to Perth annually.
