Session 58 Report

The Party started off in the forest, giving the Wolfhearts a headstart of a week before Throneshield will snitch on the Wolfheart troupe running around the region.

They were, on their way to Hossar, ambushed by a weird forest thing called Sigesar, a deer that bashed its head into a tree, stared at Mell with broken eyes and said, in the clearest voice I could muster: "I know you're there."

After that horror moment, the parties spent the night in the trees, listening to Sigesar tear the Bone Legion a new asshole and talking about whatever it took to keep the boredom away.

At sunrise, the thing from the woods told them that they were now safe from it, to which they once again set off.

Interruption to their journey came once again quickly, as they watched a cart escaping from a small bandit encampment.

There, they found Veros the Lizardfolk, who had been busy tearing up some bandits.

After a tense stand-off, his merchant employer defused the situation, and Veros would become part of the party later.

Arriving in Hossar, another pillar of smoke caught their attention, finding the Great House of Rest, the fanciest Inn in town, reduced to a crisp.

The city guard was all over the place, including General Ernesto Seatguard, who was last seen in session 53, during the first meeting of the entire court.

He and Mell had a talk, figuring out that, after something exploded in the inn, Snaketongue went missing. Highly suspicious stuff.

He also gave Mell backstory on the owner, who was once a poor orphan child that had to work his way up to owner of the GHoR. Doesn't make him less of a prick, but at least he pays his employees 5 gold a day, so he's doing something right...

Mell then tried to gather intel, by picking up word on the street, not learning much new info.

That was until she was approached by a white-suited elf man with short hair, who gave her an address, telling her that this was where Snaketongue was hiding.

Sure enough, Mell learned that this was a safehouse of Veradan Hightail, the personal "gossip boy" of Queen Ophelia herself, which was revealed to her by our diplomat friend.

He also already suspect the Spymaster, due to general shadiness and the fact he made a contract with somebody called "V.D.", for something called a "silver tongue" (think Vox Machina, because that was cool, simple as that).

He also urged her to also do diplomacy, against his better judgement, suggesting to start with the Queen. Good thing she has friends in high places.
