Ancient Warriors of the Jungle Continent

Lizardfolk (Cequala)

The semi-aquatic creations of Tlamauichi, the Lizardfolk boast an impressive host of abilites, given their god-given purpose as warriors and survivalists. Across their continent of Kuetspaltin, they have developed into a culture of severe isolation, with outside contact being minor to non-existent.
Physically, the Lizardfolk stand, on average, about 6 feet tall and come in at roughly 200 lbs of muscle, scales and teeth.

Lizardfolk have the following racial traits.

Bite

You have a powerful fanged maw that you can use to make unarmed strikes. When you hit with it, the strike deals 1d8 + your Strength modifier slashing damage, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.

Hold Breath

You can hold your breath for up to 15 minutes at a time. You also have

Natural Armor

You have tough, scaly skin. When you aren’t wearing armor, your base AC is 13 + your Dexterity modifier. You can use your natural armor to determine your AC if the armor you wear would leave you with a lower AC. A shield’s benefits apply as normal while you use your natural armor.

Supreme Physique

You count as two sizes larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift. You also have 2 additional hit points at 1st level, and 2 more per character level.

Survival Knowledge

Thanks to your connection to Kuetsplatin, you gain proficiency with two of the following skills of your choice: Animal Handling, Medicine, Nature, Perception, Stealth, or Survival.

Subraces

Kequkito (Tree-Born)

To the north-west of Kuetsplatin, there stand mighty magical trees, known to the locals as "Semuacuahu". These blessed trees have some unique properties, including a special, fire-retardant silk. The Lizardfolk living around them soon adopted them into their local culture, becoming almost obsessed with them. The tree worship changed them from the standard, resulting in thougher hides.

Kroxor (Feral-Born)

In the eastern reaches of their home continent, the Lizardfolk tamed fierce reptiles of all kind. After a magical disease brewed up by Ritchlik the Vile hit the region, a lot of Lizardfolk men died off, right before mating season too. Some more desperate Lizardfolk women managed to discover that they were compatible with some of the wildlife, leading to the birth of the first Kroxors. Larger and stronger than the average Lizardfolk, they have more bestial features, resembling various dinosaurians or crocodiles. They also wield a fierce hunger for flesh against their prey, flying into a deadly frenzy if needed.

Feral Frenzy

You may choose one of the following options for your Feral Frenzy at character creation.

Deathroll

You use your powerful Jaws to pull an opponent that is either your size or smaller to the ground and tear chunks out of them. As a action, you make a special bite attack. If it hits, you grapple the creature and knock them Prone. You also go Prone, and get to inflict Bleeding for every turn you keep grappling the creature. Once you are done, you may not use this trait until you finish a short or long rest. You may use a point of Wrath to give yourself another use of this trait (no action required).

Hungry Jaws

In battle, you can throw yourself into a vicious feeding frenzy. As a bonus action, you can make a special attack with your bite. If the attack hits, it deals its normal damage, and you gain temporary hit points (minimum of 1) equal to your Constitution modifier, and you can’t use this trait again until you finish a short or long rest. You may use a point of Wrath to give yourself another use of this trait (no action required).

Pachiui (Healer-Born)

Native to the western coasts of Kuetsplatin, the Pachiui are blessed by their namesake patron Pachiui, the Lizardfolk goddess of healing and family. This sprung from a desire to heal crashlanded foreigners and get them off the continent. Pachiui thus gave their blood healing properties. It also gave them the ability to cry blood on command, which has been used in great effect to traumatise anyone in their care into not talking about the continent.

In the past century, they seem to also have developed in a direction away from other Lizardfolk, developing more normal mortal qualities. This manifest not just in a heavier grasp of emotions, but also interesting physical changes. The males seem to gain more defined musculature and oily skin, the women breasts. Nobody yet understands why this happened, though Tlamauichi has been "looking" into the matter in his pyramid.

ability score increase: You gain +4 to Charisma.

Tlasoli (Vestige-Born)

The Tlasoli were the first of their kind, having been created by Tlamauichi himself, for the purpose of fighting the Secretary of Death one day. This has put them on a higher pedestal than their later variants.
